Deuteronomy 32:4

The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.

God is righteous. He always acts in accordance with what is right and is himself the final standard of what is right. God is perfect and all his actions are perfect. He is just in all he does. God can never think, desire, or do evil. He does no wrong.

God is faithful. He is the Rock, immovable, and trustworthy. He is the God of truth (Psalm 31.5, Isaiah 65:16) and is abundant in truth (Exodus 34:6). His word is firm, standing as a foundation for our lives.

Years ago, I ran across this old song. The text was written by a German teacher, Samuel Rodigast. He wrote these words to encourage a very sick friend.

Whate’er my God ordains is right,He never will deceive me; He leads me by the proper path, I know He will not leave me, And take content What He hath sent; His hand can turn my griefs away, And patiently I wait His day.

Whate’er my God ordains is right,Here shall my stand be taken; Though sorrow, need, or death be mine, Yet am I not forsaken, My Father’s care Is round me there, He holds me that I shall not fall,And so to Him I leave it all.

Talking Points

  • Thank God for always ordaining what is right…even if you can’t understand his ways and his timing. Tell God you submit to the truth of his righteousness.
  • Thank God for always being faithful, for being the immovable Rock that you can cling to in any situation.

Father, everything you do is right, so to you I leave it all. Help me continue to leave it all to you throughout the day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
