Deuteronomy 6:6-7

These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Compartmentalization is a curse that impacts many Christians. This happens when our walk with Christ is separated from instead of merged with all the other areas of our lives. Jesus is the subject of the songs we sing on Sundays and the person in whose name we pray but is seldom invited into our marriages, families, businesses, and recreation. But remember, Jesus lives in the believer! He is with us in every area of our lives.

Check out today’s passage. I am to live out my walk with Christ whether at home or conducting business. The truth of God’s Word and his presence should be woven into the interactions of my day from morning until night.

This spiritual wholeness is how God wants me to impress who he is on my children. They shouldn’t see God as someone who lives in a church building. Spiritual wholeness teaches our children that God is alive and active in every area of life.

Lord, cure me of compartmentalization and grow me in wholeness. Don’t allow me to leave you out of any part of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
