Don’t Give Up

Luke 18:6-8

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

It is easy to be discouraged when we pray for something and our prayer seems to go unanswered. So Jesus told a parable to His disciples to encourage them to “always pray and not give up.”

A widow kept coming to a judge for help. She pleaded, “Grant me justice against my adversary.” The judge did not fear God nor care for justice. But after her constant requests, he finally decided to oblige “so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!” Jesus said that God, the Righteous Judge, who cares about His people, will “bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night.”

So…keep praying. Don’t give up. God hears your prayers and will answer them according to His will. His love for you is eternal. His grace is unlimited. His power is not restricted. He is on your side. Always pray and don’t give up.

Father, help me be consistent and courageous in my prayers. Don’t let me get discouraged and give up when the answer doesn’t come according to my timeline. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Let us pray with you. Email your requests to prayer@ronmoore.org.  Together we will watch God at work.
